Navid Fard

Navid Fard is a contemporary Iranian-Canadian artist whose paintings are mix of abstract and figurative forms, through his work he aims to capture the relationship and the interaction of humans with themselves as well as the other species. The constructive and destructive quality of mankind and their impact on nature. His work mostly reflects social/political issues, his life experiences and memories. The hidden and mysterious emotions of individuals/relation on each other are what inspire him to paint.

His work is an exploration of color, shape, movement and the medium he uses. The artist chosen medium is oil and acrylic on canvas as it offers intensity and subtleness, sometimes he relays on other mediums such as chalk pastel and charcoal to create juxtaposition between the medium and the texture in his paintings, which adds to the colorfulness and playfulness of his work.
